Isaac’s Ballade – A Multilingual Poem by Maurizio De Cicco (Archie Anderson)
Isaac’s Ballad
Hello friends,
my name is Isaac and I love life.
I love playing the guitar,
I love singing and I love dancing.
Above all, I love Liverpool Football Club,
of which I’m both a fan and the mascot.
Like a sailor on a stormy sea,
with my gaze turned to the sky,
I always look for the North Star
to guide me out
of the rough and troubled waters.
I sail with my head held high
and I fear neither the darkness
nor the howling of the wind.
Not even the heavy rain,
because my heart rests
on the certainty that in the end
the sun will rise to shine,
guard and protect my path,
like the guardian angel
who has been with me
since I was a newborn baby.
That’s why the hope that became certainty
ensures I will never be alone
on this journey so hard to face—
but which is also the greatest gift
we call life.
“Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone.”
