La parola e l’immagine insieme

Nel 2021, ho avuto una collaborazione artistica con il noto fotografo Gabriele Forti. Le sue immagini sono state fonte di ispirazione per svariati miei componimenti. Alcuni in versi liberi, altri con versi in metrica. Il binomio immagine e parola, si unisce in una sorta di messaggio “quasi” completo, perché in effetti manca il terzo elemento: la Musica. Essa chiude il triangolo aperto dalle prime due componenti: 1) La fotografia che parla con l’immagine del momento in cui è stata scattata; 2) le parole che trasportano chi la osserva dentro l’immagine stessa: il pensiero del fotografo quando ha visto e colto l’attimo giusto. Pensiero tradotto e descritto dalla penna dello scrittore. Proseguirà questa collaborazione artistica? E’ auspicabile grazie soprattutto ai molti lettori che hanno apprezzato le nostre fatiche, ai commenti ricevuti e all’intenzione di tutti e due gli autori che sono riusciti a collaborare unendo le proprie forze.

Con questo decasillabo si è conclusa la prima nostra cooperazione.

The Word and the Image Together

In 2021, I began an artistic collaboration with the renowned photographer Gabriele Forti. His images became a source of inspiration for several of my poems—some in free verse, others written in meter.
The union of image and word merges into a message that is “almost” complete, because in truth it lacks a third essential element: Music.
Music completes the triangle formed by the first two components:

1. The photograph, which speaks through the image of the moment it captures;

2. The words, which carry the observer into the image itself—into the photographer’s thought when he saw and captured the perfect instant.
   That thought is translated and described by the writer’s pen.

Will this artistic collaboration continue? We hope so—thanks above all to the many readers who appreciated our efforts, the comments we received, and the shared intention of both authors, who succeeded in combining their strengths.

With this decasyllable, our first collaboration came to a close.
Our thanks go again to Gabriele Forti for his generosity, and to all of you who followed us.

La parola e l’immagine insieme

s’accompagnano l’una con l’altra:

una, muta con l’occhio che osserva,

l’altra parla con frasi composte.

Tutte e due rivolgono al cuore

un messaggio diretto d’amore.

Con la musica senza difetto

si congiunge un terzetto perfetto.

Ci vuol tutto nel quadro completo

con la foto dell’occhio discreto,

alla penna d’autore svelante

quell’occulto nascosto segreto,

catturato in un solo momento

dallo sguardo preciso ed attento

dell’artista con camera al collo.

Si traduce così il protocollo

con l’intento del vero obbiettivo.

Aggiungendo la musica infine

la parola e la foto in unione

si sostengono fino a varcare

quelle soglie sul proprio cammino,

raggiungendo qualunque confine

poi chissà… navigando ancora oltre.

The word and the image together
go hand in hand, side by side:
one remains mute as the eye observes,
the other speaks in crafted phrases.
Both address the heart directly,
bearing a message of love.
When flawless music is added,
they become a perfect trio.
All is needed to complete the scene:
the photo, discreetly captured
by the artist’s attentive lens,
and the writer’s revealing pen
that unveils the hidden secret
seized in one single moment
by the eye, precise and watchful,
with the camera slung from his neck.
Thus is translated the true intent,
the essence of the chosen subject.
And with music, finally joining
the union of word and image
gains strength and takes its first step
beyond the thresholds of the path,
reaching borders near and far—
and who knows… sailing even farther.
