Di… versi ma uguali – Eng

Due figure, uomo e donna, diverse e uguali nella forma e nella sostanza, camminano insieme verso l’arcobaleno. Two figures, a man and a woman, different yet equal in form and essence, walk together toward the rainbow.

Di… versi ma uguali

Di…versi, yet the Same

For our Creator,
we are all a Poem.
Perhaps this is how
we were conceived, desired, created, loved.

Each single Poem
is made of lines, stanzas,
and applied meter.
Each single creature
has built for itself a journey,
a destiny, a cross to bear,
dragging along
this heavy
and at times oppressive wood,
which we shall lay down and take up again
upon our return.

And it will always be the same:
every created being is
what it was
and will be what it is.

The physical form may change,
the nation, the race, the color of the skin,
the genetic structure
and all the related traits
through which we become the artisans of ourselves
and of the events
that concern us:
yet the individuality remains the same.

In this context
the Creator makes no distinctions;
human beings do.

Each of us is born, lives, dies:
this alone makes us equal.
No one can stand apart
from this Law.

Thus, one cannot live
without first being born
and then dying.
Just as one cannot die
without first being born
and then living,
even for a single instant.

Each single Poem
has lines made of… lines,
and this is the only diversity
we can truly name.

At the end of all things,
each created being,
passing through the earth,
is born, lives, and dies,
flying into another world
like the butterfly that, to live,
beats its multicolored wings.

Here is where we are not different,
but the same.
