L’amore nel cuore – Love in the Heart

The joy we carry in our hearts
reveals itself naturally
when someone else succeeds.

It is a powerful feeling
that comes alive
with the arrival of good news.

It is the sharing
and heartfelt participation
in what another has received.

It is allowing ourselves to be filled
with the same joy,
as though it were our own.

It is even more beautiful
than experiencing it
firsthand.

Had that gift been given to us,
perhaps we would not have been
quite so happy.

To rejoice in the happiness
of someone we know,
without envy
or the slightest jealousy,
is as though we were making
a declaration of love.
