Never Give In – Multilingual Poem

The multilingual publication project continues.
It was born in response to the growing number of views that the website www.poeticando.eu has been receiving from various parts of the world. The number of foreign visitors is constantly increasing.
From this comes the desire – and in part the need – to share my writings, whether in free verse or metered poetry, with anyone who wishes to spend a little of their time reading them.
Not all of the texts are published on this site: many are also collected in my books, written for adults, young people, and children.
After all, as I have often written, a child lives within each of us.
And that child asks every day for the essential nourishment needed to live:
a smile, the joy of life, and love for God and for humanity.

Never Give In

On a predetermined day,
we are born into this world,
and as a warning
to accompany us
along this path,
we will have — like a photograph —
our earthly life
described, told and mapped
by a road already marked.
Open sea, rugged mountain,
woods, clearing,
or dense forest,
all we can do
is follow that path,
from the very rise of the Sun,
radiant Morning Star.
And this is the certainty:
It always guides us, no matter what,
even if, circling around it,
we do not see it at night,
but only during the day.
It remains fixed and constant,
even though here below
someone tries to obscure it —
and only partially succeeds.
Fire, warmth and endless energy
are the signs to follow and emulate
as we walk the path of life,
which, for us, is this very road.
We are constantly tested,
forced to struggle each day,
sometimes struck by illness
or by Machiavellian misfortunes.
But like that Sun,
giver of rays of
His Eternal Love,
we must never give in.
