L’ineffabile Mistero

Quando ci fu l’eclissi,

il vento, il terremoto,

il nubifragio

e il velo del Tempio squarciato,

anche la lama di Longino

trafisse il Suo costato.

Deposto dalla Croce,

il Corpo fu adagiato nel Sepolcro.

Nonostante questo,

discese agli inferi

riscattando tutta quella gente

e al primo mattutino

della domenica seguente,

spezzò le catene della morte

e Risuscitò.

Ineffabile Mistero

della Resurrezione,

compito e missione

di Colui che dell’Umanità,

è il Redentore.

The Ineffable Mystery

When the eclipse came,
the wind, the earthquake,
the downpour,
and the veil of the Temple was torn,
even Longinus’ spear
pierced His side.
Taken down from the Cross,
His Body was laid in the Sepulchre.
Despite all this,
He descended into the underworld,
redeeming all those souls,
and at the first matins
of the following Sunday,
He broke the chains of death
and Rose again.
Ineffable Mystery
of the Resurrection,
task and mission
of Him who is
the Redeemer of Humanity.
